This unique pair of sneakers is the results of a collaboration between Roel van Hoff and Fairbee. Roel teaches people how to make their own pair of Nikes in his SneakerSchool, and he makes custom shoes himself. Functional one off pieces of art, fit for a museum.
We’ve put together a short video walking you through the creation of our sneakers.
SNEAKERHEADS
Fairbee counts a few sneakerheads in its team, and once we connected with Roel a plan quickly materialised: let’s create a pair of custom sneaker out of left over materials from some brands in the Fairbee-family.
The most iconic and recognisable colorway of the classic Jordan 1 sneaker is undoubtably the OG red Chigago, which is why we choose to build as sustainable tribute to this grail pair of sneakerheads around the world.
After sending out the bat signal to our partners, we received deadstock and defect samples from Myomy, Ecowings, Qurc, Atelier Jungles, Nea Vegan and Denise Roobol. Looking over the materials we received we picked the parts that worked best in different parts of the shoe construction and that fit the style we were going for best.
LOVING THE END RESULT
If you were at Sneakerness Amsterdam this year you might have already seen them in person. We think pictures don’t do them justice, luckily we have a video as well. We hope you enjoy it, and if you like to come and have a look or hold them for yourself, feel free to reach out.
